For public-works electrical and specialty contractors

Win the low bid.Keep the margin.

WorksPro prices your bids from your own production history and competitor bid tabs, tracks every job against that bid from the foreman's phone, and builds the pay estimate from field quantities. Built for signal, lighting, EV charging and underground contractors who are done running the company on Excel.

30 minutes, on your own bid and one live job. In pilot now with a Southern California contractor.

What changes

Excel got you here. It will not tell you which job is fading.

The numbers already exist: the bid, the foreman's hours, the quantities, the payroll. They just live in different files. WorksPro connects them.

  • Today: A dozen spreadsheets and a gut feel for how the company is doing.

With WorksPro: One screen: backlog, projected margin, productivity, over/under billing and cash tied up in retention.

  • Today: Bidding blind: last job's unit prices plus a markup guess.

With WorksPro: Bid from your own hours per unit and the winners' range from public bid tabs, item by item.

  • Today: Fade discovered at closeout, when it is too late to fix.

With WorksPro: Caught weekly. Labor at 58% spent on a job that is 40% complete flags the week it happens.

  • Today: Pay estimates retyped from the foreman's notes every month.

With WorksPro: Built from approved field quantities through the cutoff, with retention worked out.

  • Today: The certified payroll scramble at the end of every month.

With WorksPro: WH-347 PDF and CSV exported from the same timecards the foreman already sent.

Bid engine

Most bids are lost on five items.

Public bid results list every bidder's price for every item. WorksPro imports them and shows the winners' range while you price, next to your own hours per unit from closed jobs.

  • Your actual hours per unit beside every bid unit
  • Winners' range per item, with stipulated and allowance items left out
  • Indirects allocated on purpose, not spread evenly
  • What-if markup against your last comparable bids

Field app

A daily report the foreman finishes before he leaves the yard.

Hours by person and cost code on a tap grid, quantities per bid item, photos, toolbox talk, signature. About two minutes for a crew of four. It saves on the phone and sends when there is signal.

  • Crew prefilled from the schedule
  • Hours past 8 roll to overtime
  • Extra work flagged the same day
  • Field crew without logins are always free.

Pay estimates and compliance

Bill what the field installed. Export what the DIR asks for.

Approved daily-report quantities fill the monthly estimate through the cutoff. The same timecards carry classification and apprentice hours, so certified payroll is an export, not a project.

How it works

Bid, win, build, bill, learn. Then bid again, sharper.

Each step hands its numbers to the next, and the last one feeds the first.

  1. 01

    Bid

Price the agency's item schedule from your hours per unit and the winners' range on every item.

  2. 02

    Win

Record the bid results. A won bid becomes a project with its budget in one click.

  3. 03

    Build

Foremen send hours and quantities from the field. PF and fade update every week.

  4. 04

    Bill

Pay estimates fill from approved quantities. Retention tracks to release.

  5. 05

    Learn

Closed jobs become production history for the next bid.

Every closed job makes the next bid sharper

Something else? hello@workspro.agntc.io

What is WorksPro?

WorksPro is job cost and bidding software for electrical and specialty contractors who win public work by low bid: traffic signals, street and roadway lighting, EV charging, fiber interconnect, ramp metering and underground. It covers bids, the foreman's daily report, job cost and fade, pay estimates, retention and prevailing-wage compliance, and replaces the spreadsheets most of that lives in today.

Who is it for?

Self-performing contractors, usually 15 to 100 people, whose work comes from public bid boards: Caltrans, counties, cities, transit agencies and school districts. The owner, PMs, estimators, the office and foremen each get their own view. It is not built for general contractors managing a roster of subs.

What does it cost?

Crew is $299 a month with 10 users. Contractor is $599 a month with 30 users and adds the bid engine, bid-tab intelligence, certified payroll export and WIP reports. Enterprise is custom. Annual billing gets 2 months free ($249 and $499 a month). Field crew without logins are always free.

Does WorksPro file certified payroll with the DIR?

No. WorksPro tracks wage determinations, classifications and apprentice hours, and exports certified payroll as a WH-347 style PDF and a CSV. You review it and file through DIR's eCPR system and any portal your agency requires.

Does it replace my accounting system?

No. WorksPro is the job and bid side. Actual costs come in from your accounting system or payroll as an Excel or CSV import, mapped to job, cost type and cost code. A QuickBooks sync is planned for Phase 2.

Do my foremen need a phone app from the store?

No. The field app runs in the phone's browser and can be added to the home screen. Drafts save on the phone, and reports queue when there is no signal. Only the foreman needs a login. Crew members on the report are free.

Can I bring my old bids and jobs?

Yes. Item schedules paste in from Excel, actual costs import from CSV or Excel, and you can import historical bid tabulations, including bids you did not submit, to seed the competitor ranges.

Is WorksPro live?

WorksPro is in pilot with a Southern California public-works electrical contractor as of October 2026. Demos are open. Items marked Phase 2 on this site are planned and not in the product yet.

Bring one bid and one live job. We will show you both in WorksPro.

30 minutes, on your own bid and one live job. No slides.
