See the fade at week six, not at closeout.

WorksPro compares what each job has earned with what it has spent, by cost code and cost type, every week. When a job starts to slide, the projected margin moves and you find out while there is still time to fix it.

Job cost on every plan. The WIP and surety report is on Contractor and Enterprise.

Man-hours: planned, earned, actual

Sample data

What it does

  • 01

    Productivity factor by cost code

Earned hours are installed quantity times budget hours per unit. PF is earned hours divided by actual hours. Below 1.00 means the crew is behind the bid.

  • 02

    Budget burn by cost type

Labor, material, equipment, sub and other, each as a bar with a marker at % complete. Spending past the marker turns amber, then red.

  • 03

    Projected margin and fade

Estimate at completion from actual cost plus the remaining work at the trailing PF, with PM override. Fade is projected margin minus bid margin, tracked week over week.

  • 04

    The man-hour S-curve

Planned, earned and actual cumulative hours on one chart, so you can see when the lines started to separate.

  • 05

    Cost-code heatmap

PF and dollar variance per cost code. Chronic problem codes, the ones that run hot on job after job, stand out and feed back into the next bid.

  • 06

    WIP schedule for your surety

Contract, estimate at completion, earned, billed, over/under and fade for every job at a period end. Export to PDF or CSV with a header for your bonding company.

  • 07

    Actual cost from your books

Import vendor bills and payroll from Excel or CSV, mapped to job, cost type and cost code. Preview the import, then commit or roll it back.

  • 08

    Change orders in one log

Potential, submitted, approved or rejected, with dollars, hours and the budget change per cost type. Approved COs update the contract and the budget.

In practice

A $652k signal job, week six.

An example with sample numbers.

  1. 1

Approved daily reports show 40% of the work installed.

  2. 2

Labor cost is at 58% of budget. Wire pull is running PF 0.68.

  3. 3

Projected margin drops from 14.0% at bid to 10.9%. The job turns red on the Command Center.

  4. 4

The PM rebalances the crew, logs the extra work as a change order, and the next WIP shows the trend turning.
